The program aims to help the interested people to obtain Canadian permanent residence and settle permanently in British Columbia. There are three major categories in which BCPNP accepts applications:
- Skills Immigration

BC PNP is operated by the British Columbia government in collaboration with the federal immigration department, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Skills Immigration Stream
Skills Immigration is specifically designed for skilled and semi-skilled categories. Such foreign candidates contribute to economic development and form a meaningful workforce. The pathway focuses on immigrants with employment prospects in British Columbia and who display experience required to secure and maintain employment as BC residents. This program is divided into five different categories:
- British Columbia Skilled Worker
- British Columbia Healthcare Professional
- British Columbia International Graduate
- British Columbia International Post-Graduate
- British Columbia Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker (ELSS)
Express Entry BC Stream
This program is one of the fastest ways to become a permanent resident of British Columbia. The process works through the periodic draws in which the province nominates the qualified candidates for admission to Canada under the federal Express Entry immigration system.
